Embassy meets the Mozambican community in the Nordic countries

On Saturday, 5 September 2026, the Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in Sweden met members of the Mozambican community living in Sweden and the other Nordic countries.

Held under the theme “Mozambicans in the Nordic Countries: United by Our Identity, Inspired by the Future”, the gathering offered an opportunity for the Embassy and community to strengthen their relationship through open dialogue and shared activities.

The programme included the National Anthem, an introduction to the Ambassador and his wife, contributions from community members and the Ambassador’s wife, cultural activities, literature, a photographic exhibition and a group photograph. The meeting concluded with a social gathering.

Participants valued the openness and sense of community throughout the exchanges. They shared ideas, experiences, concerns and expectations, reinforcing the importance of maintaining regular channels for dialogue and collaboration.

The Embassy highlighted the diaspora’s role in promoting national identity, preserving Mozambican values and culture, contributing to Mozambique’s development and strengthening relations with the Nordic countries.

Participants described the meeting as carefully organised and enriching, and welcomed the relaxed atmosphere, which helped strengthen friendship, solidarity and a shared sense of belonging.
