Contact by email

The contact form on this version of the site prepares a draft in your email application. The website does not send the message automatically. Your email provider handles the message when you send it; the Embassy then receives the information you include and uses it to respond to your enquiry.

Do not include passport scans or other sensitive documents in an initial general enquiry. Ask the consular section which documents are required and how to submit them.

Comments

Visitor comments are not enabled in the current static version. If a comment service is introduced, this notice must be updated to explain the service provider, information collected, moderation and retention before it is offered to visitors.

Browser preferences

Visa checklists store their ticked items in your browser’s local storage. They are not submitted to the Embassy. Use the checklist’s Clear button or clear browser data to remove them. The welcome introduction uses session storage to remember that it has been shown during your visit.

External services and technical logs

The contact map is provided by Google Maps; embedded videos are provided by YouTube. Loading these services can send technical information to those providers, which apply their own privacy policies. WhatsApp invitations open an external service governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

The hosting provider may keep technical access and security logs. Contact the Embassy for information about hosting, retention and any personal data it holds about you.

Visit measurement

The Embassy measures the use of this website with Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to see which pages and services are being looked for and to report on the site’s activity. The measurement covers pages visited, date and time, approximate country, device type, browser and referring page. The IP address is used to determine the country and is not retained by Google in that form.

On a first visit a bar offers two choices:

• Accept — measurement uses Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_<identifier>), kept in your browser for up to two years, which allow the same browser to be recognised on later visits.
• Decline — nothing is stored in your browser. The visit is counted anonymously and in aggregate, with no identifier and no way to link it to earlier visits.

Until you answer, no analytics cookie is set. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookies link in the bottom bar of the site; declining after accepting deletes the analytics cookies.

The data collected is retained by Google for 14 months and processed under the European Union’s standard contractual clauses. Google describes its processing in its privacy policy. To avoid being measured by this service on any website, there is also the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Requests concerning your data

Email the Embassy to request information, correction or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. Explain the relevant communication or page so that staff can identify the request. Do not send additional identity documents unless requested.
