Mozambique and Sweden strengthen dialogue and cooperation at working luncheon

Stockholm, 8 September 2026 – The State Secretary for International Development Cooperation of Sweden, H.E. Ms. Karin Juhlin, hosted a working luncheon in Stockholm for H.E. Mr. Francisco Neto António Novela, Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the Kingdom of Sweden.

The luncheon was held at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and provided an opportunity for an open dialogue on relations between Mozambique and Sweden, as well as on prospects for cooperation and areas of common interest.

The luncheon was attended by representatives of important Swedish institutions and partners with an interest in cooperation with Mozambique, including the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA), Ericsson and NIR, as well as senior officials from the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Mozambique.

The discussions provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation, with particular attention to promoting trade, investment and mutually beneficial partnerships, with a view to strengthening economic relations and creating concrete opportunities for the development and prosperity of both countries.

The meeting took place in a cordial, constructive and close atmosphere, reaffirming the importance of political and institutional dialogue as a means of strengthening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Mozambique and the Kingdom of Sweden.

The Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique in the Kingdom of Sweden will continue to work with Swedish authorities, public institutions and private-sector partners to identify and promote new opportunities for cooperation, contributing to the further strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
