On 9 June 2026, H.E. Mr Francisco Neto António Novela, Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to the Kingdom of Sweden, paid a courtesy visit to Andreas Norlén, Speaker of the Swedish Parliament, as part of the Parliament’s tradition of welcoming newly accredited Heads of Mission.
The two sides discussed relations between Mozambique and Sweden and reaffirmed their interest in strengthening friendship and cooperation, particularly institutional dialogue and cooperation between their respective parliaments.
The Ambassador highlighted the promotion of Mozambique’s economic, commercial, cultural and tourism potential as a priority of his mission. He emphasised opportunities for Swedish investment in strategic sectors that can create jobs and strengthen Mozambique’s trade and exports.
The Speaker welcomed the new Ambassador and expressed interest in developing institutional dialogue and cooperation between the two parliaments.
